When will our time come? will our waiting be forever, to be free???

Top NSCN (I-M) leaders Thuingaleng Muivah and Isak Chishi Swu arrived here tonight to hold sustained and intensive dialogue with the Centre on contentious issues...including 'Greater Nagaland', for an amicable and honourable solution to the five-decade-old insurgency.

They arrived at 2315 hrs by a KLM flight from Amsterdam.

Nearly 2,000 of us, Naga students from Delhi and Nagaland along with members from civil society groups -- Naga People's Movement for Human Rights, Naga Students Federation, Naga Mother's Assosciation and Naga Hoho accorded a colourful civic reception to the Naga leaders and welcomed them in their traditional fashion.

Within two days of their arrival, they call on to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil as part of the seven-year-old peace process to resolve the prolonged insurgency, official sources told UNI.

This the first meeting between the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government and the NSCN (I-M) leaders in India. They had last visited India in January 2003 during which they held talks with the top Indian leadership. Mr Muivah and Mr Swu have held nine rounds of peace talks with the Centre on various foreign locations in the past.

The leaders were originally scheduled to visit India earlier this year which was postponed due to the Lok Sabha polls. After the Congress returned to power in last May, two rounds of talks have been held in Bangkok during which the ceasefire was extended for another year from August one.

They also learnt to have sought meetings with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP president L K Advani, CPI veteran A B Bardhan and CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, the sources said. The Naga leaders are also likely to meet Rama Pilot, the wife of late Union Minister Rajesh Pilot who had played a crucial role as Prime Minister's special emissary to the Naga peace talks, and former chief negotiator Swaraj Kaushal.

''Although no immediate permanent solution could be arrived in this visit, nevertheless it is important to maintain the momentum of the peace process. Sustained and structured dialogue would be held to find out means to resolve the prolonged insurgency,'' the sources pointed out.

''As this would be the first meeting between the NSCN(I-M) leadership and the Manmohan government, the talks would help to create better understanding between the two sides and strengthen the peace process,'' I hopeid.

'Their visit to India last year was a breakthrough in itself and created better understanding between the two sides which has helped to sustain the dialogue,''

''The expressed purpose visit of the collective leadership aims at hastening the pace of the ongoing peace process in the search for lasting solution to the long-delayed Indo-Naga political conflict,''

We've waited really long too long, so i hope and pray that something come out of these.

    Ignorance is Bliss

It's kinda a strange world, cos, here we are in the technology era where you can reach people from all corner of the world in a second, and then strangely there's a part of my world where people are absolutely untouch by any kind of modern style of living. It is world where people are self sufficient, and hardly bothered to reach out for anything rather than what they produce. In fact, here people have not seen what is electricity!
